“Moonflower Ox” is handcrafted from wood by Hội An artisans, bringing together the calm strength of the buffalo and the quiet beauty of flowers beneath the moon. Deeply connected to Vietnamese rural life, the buffalo represents diligence, resilience, prosperity, and a grounded relationship with the land. The floral details soften its solid form, creating a harmonious balance between strength and gentleness.
Carved from wood and finished with Làng Củi Lũ – Driftwood Village’s signature layered lacquer techniques, the artwork brings together sculptural form and a richly textured surface. Each lacquer layer is applied and worked by hand to create depth of colour, a gentle lustre, and subtle traces of the making process. Combined with the natural wood grain and carved patterns, these variations ensure that every sculpture carries its own distinctive character.
Symbolizing steadiness, resilience, prosperity, and harmony, “Moonflower Ox” makes a meaningful decorative piece for living rooms, offices, reception areas, or art-focused interiors. It is also a thoughtful handcrafted gift for collectors, families, or business partners.
