A TRACE OF THE STORM
Following Typhoon Vamco in mid-November 2020, this piece of driftwood was found and collected along the coast of Quang Nam.
Vamco, known in Vietnam as Typhoon No. 13 of 2020, was one of a series of powerful storms that affected Central Vietnam during an exceptionally severe typhoon season. As the storm approached the central coast, strong winds, heavy rain and rough seas affected Da Nang and surrounding areas.
In Da Nang, strong winds brought down trees and damaged structures, while large waves battered the coastline and the banks of the Han River. Vamco came at the end of a devastating sequence of storms and floods that repeatedly struck Central Vietnam throughout late 2020.
