A new life for driftwood

Each rainy season, the Thu Bon River carries fallen trees and pieces of wood downstream from the mountains. Along the way, every piece gathers the marks of time and nature, with stories rooted in the craft villages along the river.

Inspired by this journey, Driftwood Village was created to give forgotten wood a new life. Local artisans and woodworkers transform it into works of art that celebrate Vietnamese culture and identity.

The idea began in 2020. By 2023, it had grown into a creative space with woodcarving workshops and a studio producing handcrafted wood art. Here, reclaimed driftwood and local materials take on new forms.

Alongside preserving traditional craftsmanship, the Village encourages environmental awareness, the reuse of discarded materials and greener tourism. It is also a place where artisans share their skills and young people with a passion for woodcarving can learn and grow.
