A playful twist on the “Year of the Goat,” GOAT of the Year also carries a familiar modern meaning: Greatest of All Time.
Behind the wordplay is a collection with a gentler spirit. Handcrafted by Hội An artisans, each wooden goat sculpture brings together natural materials, traditional craftsmanship and a symbolic wish for the year ahead.
A Gentle Symbol for the Year Ahead
In Vietnamese culture, the goat is often associated with gentleness, harmony, patience and quiet resilience. Rather than expressing strength through force, it represents the ability to remain grounded, adaptable and close to nature.
As 2027 welcomes the Year of the Goat, these qualities make the goat a meaningful subject for handcrafted décor and thoughtful gifts.
Handcrafted in Hội An
Every sculpture in the collection is shaped and finished by hand by artisans in Hội An.
The natural grain, carved details and hand-applied finishes give each piece its own character. Small variations in tone and texture are not imperfections, but traces of the material and the hands that shaped it.
This approach reflects the spirit of Làng Củi Lũ – Driftwood Village: allowing wood to retain its natural story while giving it a new form through craftsmanship.

Bell Goat
Compact and cheerful, Bell Goat combines the gentle character of the goat with the joyful sound and symbolism of a bell. It carries wishes of harmony, happiness and good fortune, making it well suited to a desk, shelf or intimate living space.
Longevity Blossom Goat
The Longevity Blossom Goat brings together floral details and symbolic elements such as the bell or fish. The flower suggests renewal and enduring beauty, while the fish represents abundance and the bell evokes joy and positive energy.
Wood Blossom Goat
With its compact form, visible wood grain and handcrafted floral details, Wood Blossom Goat celebrates the natural warmth of wood. It is an understated decorative piece for those who appreciate simple forms and the individual character of handmade objects.
Silver Goat
Silver Goat gives the familiar animal form a more contemporary presence. Its silver-toned finish reflects light across the carved surface while preserving the texture and warmth of a sculpture shaped by hand.
Mountain Spirit
Grounded and quietly expressive, Mountain Spirit is inspired by the enduring presence of the mountains. The sculpture carries a sense of stability, protection and harmony with nature, making it particularly suitable for a workspace, entrance or contemplative corner.
Spring Village Gate Goat
Spring Village Gate Goat brings together the gentle image of the goat and the familiar form of a Vietnamese village gate. It evokes homecoming, belonging and the warmth of returning to a place filled with memories.
Floral Goat
With its larger form and decorative patterns, Floral Goat creates a stronger visual statement. The floral details suggest growth and renewal, while the natural wood and hand-finished surface keep the piece warm and grounded.
Choosing the Right Goat Sculpture
For a desk, bookshelf or small living space, compact pieces such as Bell Goat, Wood Blossom Goat or Longevity Blossom Goat are easy to display.
For a contemporary interior, Silver Goat offers a distinctive balance between traditional craftsmanship and modern colour.
Larger works such as Floral Goat, Mountain Spirit or Spring Village Gate Goat can become focal points in living rooms, offices, reception areas and hospitality spaces.
The symbolic details can also guide your choice:
- A bell for joy and harmony
- A fish for abundance
- Blossoms for renewal
- A mountain for stability
- A village gate for belonging and homecoming
A Gift That Lives Beyond the Season
A handcrafted sculpture does not need to belong to only one celebration. Long after the Year of the Goat begins, each piece can remain in the home as an artwork, a familiar presence and a reminder of the person who chose it.
