Our Story

We want you to experience the joy and excitement of create wood art with your own hands. Our workshops are led by experienced artisans who are always available. Sharing stories and techniques passed down through generations.

At Driftwood Village, we are dedicated to preserving and promoting the traditional art of Vietnamese wood carving. Nestled within a vibrant garden, we offer a peaceful, nature-immersed space where you can connect with the rich culture and hospitality of the Vietnamese people through the lens of local artisans.

The discarded materials are very beautiful, you must first cherish them.
They are like a part of your soul, you have to work with dedication, pay attention to detail, and do things right to
make them truly sustainable.

Founder Lê Ngọc Thuận

A native of Quang Nam is the one who laid the foundation for the idea of recycling driftwood into an embodiment of local culture. Witnessing the pieces of driftwood, imprinted with cultural stories as they travel from the upstream to the downstream, blending with daily life in Hoi An, has provided him with endless creative inspiration.

Driftwood Village in Dong Na village, Hoi An city was born from the idea of artist Le Ngoc Thuan, a Hoi An native who is very famous for his journey of painting, fine art sculpture, regenerating the life cycle of turning driftwood - logs of wood floating in the flood water that were thought to be discarded - into creative works of art, participating in many domestic and international exhibitions, often called "Thuan luu lu", "Vietnam's recycled art ambassador".
