ONE OF THE MOST DESTRUCTIVE STORMS OF THE SEASON

Following Typhoon Molave in late October 2020, this piece of driftwood was found along the coast of Dien Duong Beach, Quang Nam.

Molave – Typhoon No. 9 of 2020- struck Central Vietnam after the region had already endured weeks of relentless rainfall and flooding.

In the mountainous areas of Quang Nam, torrential rain associated with the storm triggered catastrophic landslides in Nam Tra My and Phuoc Son, causing severe loss of life.

Across the affected region, homes were destroyed or damaged, roads were cut off and communities were isolated.

Molave became one of the defining disasters of Central Vietnam’s extraordinary 2020 storm season.
